Removal, survey and installation gear drive a belt

Engines F8Q 620 and early F8Q are equipped gear приводным by a belt “HTD”, and late F8Q and all F9Q - a belt with other profile a tooth “HTD2”. When the piston №1 is in position ВМТ, adjusting labels on cogwheels of a cam-shaft and the fuel pump should settle down as is specified - engine F8Q 620

 REMOVAL

1. Disconnect a cable of weight from the battery. On models Scenic address to the Head the Electric equipment of the engine and disconnect a positive wire in the block of additional safety locks of a food in an impellent compartment, and also a negative wire from the accumulator. On models with engines F9Q, turn away fixing nuts and remove a sound-proof cover of the engine, then disconnect a socket of electroconducting from the block of management of injection system, turn away two fixing bolts and displace the management block aside.
4. Remove auxiliary приводной a belt. To improve access, turn away strengthening core (where is available) between domes of racks of a forward suspension bracket.
5. Turn away a pulley bolt коленвала.

7. To improve access, turn away two bolts, fastening assemblage of the fuel filter to the body panel, then let out from fastenings on the engine filter hoses. Assemblage can be displaced aside (on the top part of the engine).
8. Temporarily establish a pulley bolt коленвала. Establish the piston №1 in ВМТ on also compression and insert an adjusting pin to check up position коленвала as the Arrangement of the top dead point (ВМТ) for the piston №1 is described in Section.
9. Now it is necessary to remove the right forward support of the engine that was possible to remove gear приводной a belt; therefore the engine under the pallet is necessary for supporting a jack with laid between them wooden бруском to increase the support area.
10. Turn away a nut, крепящую the top arm of a support to assemblage of the terminator of movement / to a rubber pillow - be guided by Section Replacement of support of the engine/transmission.
11. Turn away three bolts, fastening the top arm of a support to the main arm on the engine, then remove an arm.
12. Turn away assemblage of the terminator of movement of a rubber pillow from a body. On engines F8Q with turbocharger, also turn away a core of a coupler of a back support (Section Replacement of support of the engine/transmission) and turn away bolts, fastening a reception pipe of the muffler/converter to a final collector (address to the Head of the Power supply system and release). Release a reception pipe and support it.

13. Turn away bolts of fastening and remove an external cover drive a belt which closes a cogwheel of the fuel pump of a high pressure (address to an accompanying illustration).

14a. Turn away fastening bolts, marking a site of the holders attached by bolts.

14b. Uncover, which closes a cam-shaft cogwheel (address to illustrations).

15. Establish the piston №1 in ВМТ on a step of compression and notice position of an adjusting label on a cogwheel of the fuel pump of a high pressure. On engines with a cogwheel of the fuel pump of type “МАА”, the adjusting label on a pulley can cause a stir from shown for an integral pulley. In this case, take into consideration type of a label and its site to facilitate the subsequent installation. Pay attention that on models with an integral cogwheel on a pulley there are two adjusting labels. The used label depends on what fuel pump is established (Bosch or Lucas) (address to illustrations).

16. If the former belt is used (contrary to recommendation Renault), establish it so that arrows coincided with a rotation direction. As pay attention that on a belt there should be cross-section strips which correspond to adjusting labels on cogwheels of a cam-shaft, the fuel pump of a high pressure and коленвала.

17. Loosen the a fixing nut and a bolt, then take away back the tension mechanism to reduce a belt tension (address to an accompanying illustration). Again tighten a nut.

18. Remove a belt at first from a cam-shaft cogwheel, then - from a cogwheel of the fuel pump, a roller, pulleys коленвала and an intermediate shaft.
19. Do not turn a cam-shaft or коленвал while gear приводной the belt will not be established into place.

Renault recommends to replace gear приводной a belt after its each removal. If the belt tension is checked by means of the special tool it will be suitable for the further use only in the event that a tension - within the maximum deviations specified in Specifications. If - in the bottom range of admissible values, a belt it is impossible to pull a tension further, it should be replaced.

 SURVEY

1. Clear cogwheels, an intermediate pulley and the mechanism of a tension and wipe them dry - do not use excessive quantity of solvent at clearing of an intermediate pulley and the tension mechanism, bearing greasing differently can be removed. Also clear an internal cover of a gear belt and an adjoining surface of a head and the block of cylinders.
2. Attentively examine gear приводной a belt on all length, especially in the bases of a teeth. Replace a belt if on it there are pollution by oil or greasing. Replace all proceeding epiploons. The belt should be replaced, if will reach the maximum run presented in the Head Maintenance service.


 INSTALLATION

1. Be convinced that the piston of the cylinder №1 costs in position ВМТ, and the adjusting pin is inserted in коленвал. That was possible to adjust the tension mechanism, screw a bolt of 6 mm in a cut aperture in an internal cover of a gear belt (address to an illustration).

2d. Combine strips on a belt with labels on cogwheels of the fuel pump of a high pressure, the direction of arrows on a belt should coincide with a direction of rotation of the engine. Establish gear приводной a belt on a cogwheel коленвала, then on an intermediate pulley, a cogwheel of the fuel pump of a high pressure, a cam-shaft cogwheel, the mechanism of a tension and a cogwheel of an intermediate shaft (address to illustrations).

3. Be convinced that all adjusting labels are combined and eliminate sagging gear drive a belt, clamping a bolt on an internal cover.

For check, count quantity of a teeth gear drive a belt between an intermediate label on a pulley of the fuel pump - if installation of phases timing is correct, for engines F8Q there should be 29 teeth, and for engines F9Q - 30 teeth.

4. Now it is necessary to adjust a belt tension, it can be made precisely by means of tool Renault Mot.1273 (SEEM Tronic 105.6) (address to an accompanying illustration). If this equipment is not accessible, as far as possible adjust a tension of a belt a method described more low, and after as soon as possible address on HUNDRED Renault for tension check. It is impossible to go to a long trip or to move on high speed, the tension gear drive a belt will not be checked up yet.

5. If adjustment is wrong, the tension mechanism is necessary for displacing, weakening a nut and rotating a bolt on an internal cover of a gear belt (address to an accompanying illustration).

6. Correctly having pulled a belt, tighten a nut of the mechanism of a tension the effort resulted in Specifications. Loosen the a bolt on an internal cover of a gear belt so that it any more did not concern an arm of a roller of the mechanism of a tension.
7. Remove an adjusting pin коленвала, then establish a pulley коленвала and a fastening bolt.
8. Be convinced that коленвал it is established in ВМТ (for this purpose insert an adjusting pin), then remove an adjusting pin and turn коленвал on two complete revolutions in a normal direction of rotation, returning it again in position ВМТ. Again insert an adjusting pin into the block of cylinders.
9. Temporarily establish an external cover drive a belt which closes a cam-shaft cogwheel, and be convinced that the adjusting label on a pulley is combined with the index on a cover (address to Section the Arrangement of the top dead point (ВМТ) for the piston №1).
10. Anew check up a belt tension as it has been described above. If the tension is wrong, installation and check procedure is necessary for repeating.
11. Having pulled a belt, remove bolt М6 from an internal cover and remove an adjusting pin from the block of cylinders. Establish заглушку in the block of cylinders and reliably tighten it and a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension.
12. Check up the injection moment as it is described in the Head of the Power supply system and release.
13. Establish the top external covers drive a belt.
14. Attach assemblage of the terminator of movement / a rubber support of the engine to a body and to the top arm of the engine as Removal and installation of an oil radiator is described in Section. Remove a jack or other device which was used for engine support.
15. Establish assemblage of the fuel filter and fix hoses. On engines F8Q with turbocharger, establish a core of a coupler of a back support (Section Replacement of support of the engine/transmission) and a reception pipe of the muffler/converter (address to the Head of the Power supply system and release).
16. Establish auxiliary приводной a belt.
17. Where it is applied, establish strengthening core on куполы a forward suspension bracket.
18. On models with engines F8Q, establish the top plastic cover drive a belt / the right support. On models with engines F9Q, establish the block of management of system of injection and an electroconducting socket, then establish a sound-proof cover of the engine.
19. Where is available, establish the bottom guard of the engine, then - the loose leaf of an arch of a wheel and a wheel, and then lower the car on the earth.
20. Attach a weight cable to the battery, and on models Scenic, plugs on the additional block.
