Course check, removal and installation of a pedal of coupling

COURSE CHECK

1. Assemblage of a pedal of coupling includes the automatic regulator which work can be checked up as follows. 2. At first measure a free wheeling of a rope of coupling: without pressing a coupling pedal, extend the end of a rope turned to transmission from its casing and measure length of the bared site. If the mechanism works correctly, the rope free wheeling should be not less than 20 mm. If it not so, check up, whether has jammed a gear segment of a regulator. 3. Ask the assistant to press against the stop and to let out a pedal of coupling and measure full displacement of the end of a plug of deenergizing of coupling. If the mechanism works correctly, the plug course should be 27.4 - 30.7 mm (address to an accompanying illustration). If it not so, examine a teeth of an automatic regulator on presence of damages and check up, whether ослабла a spring. Be convinced also that a rope has not jammed in a casing.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect a cable of weight from the battery (on models Scenic address to the Head an engine Electric equipment). If the autoradio tape recorder in your car is coded, be convinced before to disconnect the battery be convinced that you know a code. 2. On all engines, except E7J, remove assemblage of the air filter and its air lines (address to the Head of the Power supply system and release). 3. Working in an impellent compartment, unhook the end of a rope from a plug of deenergizing of coupling on transmission. 4. Turn away screws of fastening and remove the bottom casing of a steering column to get access to assemblage of a pedal of coupling. 5. Turn on and remove a nut and a washer from a rotary axis of a pedal (address to an accompanying illustration). Where is available, turn away a fixing nut/bolt and remove an arm from the axis end. 6. Partially take a rotary axis of pedals of coupling/brake so that it was possible to remove a coupling pedal together with шарнирными plugs and распорной a lining. Remember position шарнирных plugs subsequently to provide correct installation of a pedal. 7. Separate a rope of coupling from the top end of a pedal, then unhook it from a gear segment and remove assemblage of a pedal from the car. Push a rotary axis of pedals back into position. 8. Examine pedal assemblage on presence of damages and deterioration signs, giving particular attention to an automatic regulator. Do not try to disassemble assemblage - in sale its separate components do not arrive. If pedal assemblage is damaged, it should be replaced entirely. Replace шарнирные plugs if they are worn out or damaged.

INSTALLATION

1. Put a quantity of universal greasing on working surfaces of plugs and распорной pedal linings, and also on surfaces of a teeth of a regulator. 2. Establish plugs on a pedal everyone on a former place. Be convinced that the adjusting ledge of each plug is combined with corresponding dredging of a pedal, place распорную a lining into position. 3. Place pedal assemblage under the instrument panel. Fasten a tip of a rope of coupling to a regulator, then deduce a pedal into position. 4. Be convinced that the coupling rope is correctly placed on a gear segment of a regulator, then establish an arm (where is available) and tighten its nut/bolt while only manually. 5. Push a rotary axis completely into position, then establish a washer and a nut. Tighten a nut of an axis and an arm nut/bolt. 6. Fasten the end of a rope turned to transmission, to a plug of deenergizing of coupling. 7. Press a coupling pedal some times, watching rope position on a gear segment. It will allow an automatic regulator to establish a demanded free wheeling of a pedal. 8. Check up regulator action as it is described above. 9. Establish the bottom casing of a steering column, assemblage of the air filter and its air lines (where are available) and attach a weight cable to the battery.
